What G3M is, and what beta means right now
G3M is a members’ club that lives on the internet rather than on a high street. Under one roof there is a shop, a finance hub, an arcade of games you can play in the browser, a set of everyday tools, a noticeboard where members sell their own things to each other, and auctions. One person builds and runs the lot.
The site is real. The money is switched off on purpose.
G3M is in beta, and that word is doing something specific here. Everything you can see works: the accounts, the shop, the games, the noticeboard, the whole route from picking something up to paying for it. What is deliberately not switched on is real money. Payments run on Stripe test cards, so a checkout goes all the way through and nothing is ever charged to anybody.
That is a decision, not an unfinished corner. Testing a payment path with other people’s money is how you find out about a fault after it has cost somebody. The card form stays in test mode until the whole journey has been walked end to end enough times to be dull.
What that means for you
- You can register, look around and use nearly everything without spending anything.
- If you reach a card form, it takes a test card rather than a real one — the number to use is on the demo guide Rodrigo sends you, and nothing is charged either way.
- Prices you see on the pricing page are the real intended prices.
- Anything odd or broken is worth telling somebody about. That is the point of the beta.
