Reporting something that should not be there
If something on the noticeboard looks wrong, tell us. It takes about twenty seconds and it is never a nuisance.
How
- Open the advert.
- Find Something wrong with this listing? near the bottom and open it.
- Choose a reason: it breaks the rules, it does not look like theirs to sell, the description or photos are misleading, it has already sold or is not available, or something else.
- Add a note if there is anything worth knowing. Up to 500 characters, and optional.
- Send it.
The rules around reporting
- You need to be signed in, and your name goes with the report. Anonymous flagging invites drive-by nonsense and gives nobody anything to weigh.
- You cannot report your own advert.
- One open report per advert per person, so nobody can bury the list.
- Up to ten reports an hour.
What happens next
It lands on the Reports tab of the owner’s workspace, with a count beside it. From there an advert can be taken down, and somebody can be removed from the board. What G3M undertakes to do about a report is set out on the noticeboard rules page rather than here.
What nobody here can do is get anybody’s money back, because none of it went through G3M in the first place. That is worth understanding before you need it, and it is covered in what happens when something sells.
Being able to say “somebody told us and we acted on it” is what keeps this a noticeboard rather than something G3M is treated as having published itself. Reporting is doing the place a favour.
