Guides / Being a manager
Adding a listing
The add form sits at the top of your workspace. If you look after more than one section you get one form per section, each with its own fields.
The fields
- What is it? — the title, up to 120 characters. Required. Name the actual thing: make, model, size. “Amplifier” tells a reader nothing.
- Describe it — the body of the advert. This is where the work is.
- Asking price, reference and how many.
- Condition — new, like new, good, fair, or for parts.
- Handover — collection, delivery or post.
- Area — your town or district. Never your street or house number.
- Photos — covered in its own guide.
What a good one looks like
Say what is wrong with it as well as what is right. A scratch mentioned in the advert is a detail; the same scratch discovered on the doorstep is an argument. Give measurements where they matter, say why you are parting with it, and answer the obvious question before somebody has to ask it.
Sending it
The button says Send for approval, and that is exactly what it does. Your item goes into Rodrigo’s queue and appears in your own list marked as waiting.
Editing something that is already live works differently, and the difference matters. Your changes are parked to one side and the live advert stays up, unchanged, until he approves them. A price correction never pulls your advert off the board while it waits.
If you save a great many times in one hour the form asks you to slow down. Wait a few minutes and carry on.
Next: the approval queue.
